What I meant re: contracts specifically was that the hiring person should foot the bill for legal advice. Naturally, yes, the contracts for such a custom operation should be drawn up with the hired person (theoretically you) participating.
The "obviously" thing is just a defensive reaction. Whatever. (It says more about the hiring person than about you, IMO, because it neatly fits the personality of someone who'd ask for such a setup....)
I stick to my thing about the doctor :) because, if one is exercising regularly and with some success after starting from nearly flat inertia, one builds a bit of muscle, and even a little muscle can offset the loss of fat. As long as the doctor doesn't nag, though, it's probably fine.
