Yeah, the "Asian" thing is funnier [N.B. not actually humorous] when one considers that in British English, "Asian" == South Asian; in US English, "Asian" == East Asian. Both UK and US overlook SE Asian (Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, ...), and by default, everyone overlooks the north and the west. "West Asian" includes Turkey and Iran, not to mention Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel/Palestine, except that in English the region is usually called "Middle East," between Here and There.
