There's been a meme going around (I found it via
ames) about TV habits. It's supposed to be a post-per-day kind of thing but I don't usually have trouble nattering on about nothing.
However, I would like to talk about my preferences...
The show Life is available in its entirety on Hulu. I really enjoyed that. It was too bad I only discovered it right before it was canceled.
Lie To Me is available via TVGorge.com (only the most recent 5 episodes are on Hulu, and last season on Netflix streaming). I don't know how much longer I'll be watching that, I thought it was kind of mediocre.
Although I am watching White Collar currently, it would lose if there was a conflict. Too much effort has been spent making us unsure who the good guys are, so it doesn't make much sense outside of being eye candy. But eye candy like that is so far out of my league that I don't find myself interested.
The new season of Burn Notice has started. It has really fallen in quality since the first season. I think it's damned obvious what criteria they're using for hiring new cast members though and I think that's a lousy reason when the people they chose matching the criteria are not actually talented actors.
In Plain Sight has been better this season than it was the first season. I'm liking the show more and more.
There's a new series, vampires, starting this weekend, called The Gates or something. It's probably going to suck... heh. I miss Forever Knight, though that had started to suck too. Moonlight didn't make the grade and got canceled around the time it had failed its last chance with me. We missed seeing Blood Ties when it was being shown, but episodes are available online (not via normal sites) and via DVD. True Blood started its third season today, but it will be a while before I see those since it's only HBO.
Most major network shows are on hiatus. NCIS, Mentalist, Criminal Minds, House, Chuck, Bones, Castle. The season finale of Castle was childish. NCIS is still a great show but the cliffhangers they do between seasons are really annoying. House, I think I'd like it better if it wasn't so difficult to watch... it seems to always be scheduled deliberately to conflict with something else I watch. Chuck, well, I'm about to stop watching it. I keep saying that and we haven't stopped yet, but their humor is not funny and makes them seem really stupid and incompetent a lot of the time. Mentalist... well, they're not taking advantage of the ensemble cast they have and they seem to let everyone slide and put in minimal effort. It started out intense and there's no zip left. Criminal Minds... it's on the same station as NCIS, but you can't stream it anywhere and it never re-airs and they sit on the DVDs until the new season has started so if you've missed one you're effed. Bones, well, I didn't like the season finale and they've been slowly transforming the title character into someone not differently competent but incompetent. The first season she knew martial arts and was socially awkward and was a dive master and a slew of other actual skills. Now Bones doesn't seem to know much of anything other than her specialty and what Booth has taught her. Booth has stopped feeling uncomfortable around the smart people, not because he adjusted but because they've gotten dumber.
Law&Order was canceled. They totally deserved it with the most recent season. NUMB3RS was canceled, which was also totally deserved.
