One of the silly reasons I love my mechanic, the seat isn't moved. I know that's not how most people choose a mechanic. "I want someone the same height as me." But it's awesome none-the-less.

Unfortunately this is an expensive trip for the car. It's mostly unfortunate because I couldn't just wait for the oil to be changed by going to breakfast and then taking the car home.

cable company: I called the cable company. The box decided it wants to change stations randomly. Often while I'm watching something. I'll be sitting on the couch with the remote on the table and suddenly it will be all "Arrriba! Andale Andale!" Or "The current leader is about to tee off, with a [fucking stupid looking stick]; let's watch." They tried to remotely reboot the box and it was borked. I had to unplug it. Then all the remote resets went through while the guy was trying to help me test it.

But what's really annoying is when I looked at my bill, they've stopped honoring their own promotional rate promise. They said 1 year @ $39.95. Now it says 1 year promotional pricing at [standard]-$20 so I'm paying $46.95. It's not a lot more money, but I'm questioning why I should have to pay the extra. Breach of verbal promise isn't anything I can fight, but I can choose not to do business with Comcast because they're complete dicks.

dentist: I called the dentist to reschedule my appointment and found out their temporary hygienist (who did a horrible job cleaning my teeth (they didn't feel clean afterward). She didn't seem to know when something needed reviewing by the dentist either... "I'm not sure what's wrong with that." should be followed by "Let me get [the dentist]." ) has become permanent. My SO is trying out a new dentist next week. If I go, that will be my fourth dentist in under 2 years.

Even more dentist drama: my SO's new dentist called to reschedule again. And it turns out the first rescheduler gave us the wrong time, so it was a good thing they called or he would have missed it. But it took 5 weeks to get a cleaning appointment, which was postponed 2 weeks, they called yesterday and wanted to have him come today, and today they called and need to move him up an hour plus DST. I can't tell if they're just incredibly unlucky with staff problems or if they're actually as incompetent as they seem.

I'm in need of an aspirin, a cold coke with lots of ice (and a really fat straw for mass consumption), and an extra large order of super-crispy fries.
