Aug. 8th, 2011 02:49 pmOK. Will be brief. Very sick. Have been coughing since Thursday. Simon went to Walgreens yesterday and bought anti-coughing stuff. I didn't have to ask him. It sucks a lot that there existed stuff that would help and I had to go ~4 days without it. But once I started taking it I went from coughing so hard that I had to brace myself three times every 5 minutes (completely unable to sleep even with a double dose of Benedryl) to only coughing twice in 90 minutes.
The anti-coughing pills say to take with a whole glass of water. I think their glasses are smaller than mine. My regular glass holds 24 ounces. It's hard to drink that much when you're coughing that hard. I also can't eat anything. Juice stays down mostly okay but anything else makes me vomit from the roiling during the coughing phase.
J I hope your new job is lovely. You certainly spent enough time seeking it that I don't want you to be unhappy.
I looked up why trading wasn't halted on wall street today.:

the first halt is at 10% and it's not 10% of today's open, it's 10% of the total at the quarter.
I finished Eileen Wilks's latest Lupi book Blood Challenge. Lily reminds me of someone and I find that I dislike Lily for it. Luckily this book devoted a lot of attention to Arjenie despite the blurb and descriptions not mentioning the side plot at all. Lily seems so childish to me. She won't make a stand with her family--- they're Chinese, for whom family is like Mafia--- she won't compromise with her fiance even when she can understand why it's necessary. She's always sullen and sulky about having to give in... and it's really out of character for her to do this shabby tantrum stuff with Rule but not with her family. Her family only has tradition on its side, there's no actual physical reason Lily couldn't push for a compromise there. It just doesn't bode well for her grown-up relationship that she puts the dominant Rule as subservient to her family--- that she doesn't seem to like very much. I've always believed that the people who have your best interests in mind, who honestly like you, the ones who will forgive you for bailing on them... those are the people who shouldn't get shafted as a first choice. Everyone else seems to assume family is that. It never was for me. It doesn't seem to be for Lily, so she should tell them to shove off and focus on the people she loves instead of this childish foot-dragging attitude against doing what desperately needs doing so people she loves don't die. I feel sorry for Rule because Lily can't woman up.
Ok now I can take more meds. later.
