Four I's

So far, I'm not hugely enamored of the Amazon Prime services. The shipping is nice. But the included video streaming is so lacking in interface design that it's almost unusable. The hype about Kindle lending is just that, hype. Almost nothing they have is included in their lendable library, except things that were or are available free. Some of the free titles aren't even in the lendable library which makes no sense. And again, the interface is ludicrous... you can only browse for those titles via the Kindle itself. You can't tell whether something is free to Kindle borrowers via the website at all. So unless you own a Kindle, you can't know whether the feature would be useful to you.

I did get The Hunger Games from that though, it's their token real book. And since the wait list at the library is months' long, it was a good choice. I do also really prefer the speed and quality of the Amazon video streaming compared to Netflix. And they have things that aren't available streaming anywhere else. But no close captions and no queue so it's a real PITA every time you want to watch something.

I had a really quiet weekend. It's almost been nice. I'd have liked to have gone out, but I didn't feel socially acceptable. I've been feeling pretty low lately and in that kind of way that's probably contagious emotionally even though I don't have aerosolized germs. If the weather is nice I'm going out to lunch tomorrow. I have a pottery class scheduled this week. I made an effort to connect with new friends. Really this weekend has felt like when you take Friday off because you're too sick to work, and on Saturday you sleep late, eat whatever sounds good, and pamper yourself because you were sick yesterday and feel good enough to have gone back to work today if it wasn't a weekend. Not that I even remember what that's like.

I have decided that should I need to shave my head again, I should put the trimmer on 3 and skip the unpleasant bald with shadow look.
