I had a good time at the block party. I took home an empty tray. Simon didn't go, so I left him with food in the refrigerator. When I got home 3 hours later he was sitting on the sofa being hungry. Seriously. It never occurred to him to even look to see if I'd left him any food. And he knew where I was. I get that he didn't want to go to the party, but there was a fresh loaf of bread and he knows where the oatmeal is.

For those of you who are tired of hearing me natter on about Doctor Who, someone else drew a comic about it.

I'm thinking I'm going to stop looking at any of the fora on Ravelry. I'm sick of idiots wittering on in a personal conversation inside topic-specific discussions. Today there was someone whose post consisted solely of an acronym I didn't know. That was it. Someone else had posted how wonderful a vendor (who only has an Etsy storefront) is--- and I've dealt with her. She's a scatterbrained retard. (Which means, obviously, I can't tell you who it is or I'll be accused of slander. But seriously, if you're buying a spinning wheel, would you buy it from someone who requires you to give your information to a third party who then re-sells it? It's a multi-hundred dollar purchase, generally I'd assume that's a product worthy of getting a website for.) I'd rather stop being interested in fiber crafts in public. Like it's a shameful secret hobby....

Tonight at the block party, someone told me I was very annoying. It was the coffee woman's husband. Sadly, I am very annoying so I shouldn't feel hurt by someone saying the truth. But I do get tired of the "Harrison Bergeron" effect where no one wants me because I'm not brainless and moronic like everyone else. If they mean that, they should pith everyone's brains at birth. Then we'd all live and no one would ever think.

I told someone tonight that I was an atheist. I hope that's not true, but I suspect it is. See... atheists believe that there's no afterlife. (There's no divine evaluation or karma. There is no reincarnation. After you die, you're dead. That's it.) Yes? Can you see the problem? I'm not a happy person by nature. I actually believe in the universe having a finite amount of happiness, thus with 7 billion people, we should love those who have died because their ration of happiness will be returned to the pool and everyone will get an infinitesimal amount more. Makes what's "good" and "bad" not mesh well with the standard expectations.

Atheists don't have to believe that there's no afterlife. They just have to believe that there's no boss fight in the afterlife.

Someone actually had the lack of tact to say to you, "You are very annoying?" Wow. People stun me. I have a standard response for those types of declarations, "If there ever comes a time when your opinion matters to me I'll to remember what you said."

Gah! Humans!

I think they're are both insufferably rude. BOTH.

Detail oriented being a negative is his perception. It has not more hold on Absolute Truth than any other perceptions. What a doucebag.

No-one is forced to endure anyone's presence. Everyone is free to walk away. One who does not exercise that choice gets what they get. She gets something out of spending time with you or she wouldn't do it. Likely what she gets is "away from her doucebag husband". :P~

See what happens when you're in a hurry? I saw doucebag underlined by the spellcheck and glanced, thought, "that looks wrong, whatever - spellcheck doesn't like compound words" and moved on. *grin*
