OK weird question time.

serynDo people who live in Hawaii and Florida use the same kinds of towels as everyone else? It's incredibly humid where I live, all year 'round, and my gigantic bath sheets do not get all the way dry if I shower multiple times per day, even if I alternate towels.
Additionally, Simon's mother absconded with all my hand towels and cut them up for rags. I have no earthly clue why she did this and then stacked Simon's bathroom with the hand towels that were in the back of the linen closet (His are the red ones; I hate red; he hates hand towels.)
My previous set of towels has faded to a mauve type color that is really unpleasantly pinkish red, so I am using this as a justification to replace everything. Simon can use my old towels and get rid of his old towels entirely.
Also, there's a 30% sale at LandsEnd, plus free shipping. And their towels have been nice in the past and currently come in a deep purple color they are calling "eggplant". I can get two bath sheets, two bath towels, two hand towels, two washcloths, and a bathmat for $125 including tax.
But ultra plush thick terry towels do NOT get dry in my bathroom, so I thought I would ask if there was a Hawaiian style towel or some trick I was missing. I want to shower a lot more often lately.

In "eggplant"
It's not Egyptian cotton, but I'm not fussy about where it's grown as long as it's long-staple and well spun.
I'm wondering if I can use a flannel sheet as a towel. It'd be absorbant enough now that I don't have long hair, but thin enough that it might dry.
Corrvin suggested I get a heated towel rack, but I'd have to keep it in my bedroom which means there would be extra effort to remember to bring a towel with me when I showered.
Simon's mother tosses her towels in the dryer for 10 minutes when it's humid there... like between washings. I could do that but it would involve work.
Originally I had 4 matching bath sheets but when they faded I bought just 2 new ones. The new size is longer and thicker and if I hang them on the sliding doors to the tub, they never get dry so I use those spaces to store the unused towels but then I had to put all my cleansers and my trash can on the other side of the toilet so the towels didn't get dragged across nasty things.Then I started keeping the spare towels in the closet.
I can still use the old towels, of course.
But I find that one of the few things I thoroughly enjoy is showering. So I sometimes take 3 in the same day. Hopefully I will find better things to enjoy, but I can't hear the phone ring, I can't hear people knocking on the door, I can't hear Simon telling me he needs a Halloween costume to wear to work. I think other women like baths for that reason but without the water running, the world intrudes.
Oh. and if some ecology person is horrified, these aren't long showers. I just need 5 minutes completely to myself more often than I can get without the isolating effect of the running water.
