I mentioned the food choices a few nights ago. That night I made the pasta with the chicken sausage and cherry tomatoes. It was good. The sauce was a bit thick, so it ended up tasting a bit like macaroni and cheese without the cheese.
Tonight I made the corn tortillas. I'd mixed the dough up yesterday and let it set overnight. This was a complete failure. Not necessarily the waiting overnight. Just in general. Tortillas ended up being undercooked (not in terms of griddle time, but more like polenta that was cooked in too little water, it dries up but it's sure not cooked through) and they cracked during the pressing. They cracked when I tried rolling. They cracked when I flipped them. Finally in the end we just got out big bowls and layered tortilla bits with meat and guacamole and cheese.
It was edible but my tummy hurts.
Even worse? I'd planned that we'd have enough leftover of this that I wouldn't have to cook tomorrow because I have 2 events scheduled back-to-back. I should have gone to the grocery store today so I wouldn't be running crazed all day tomorrow.
