Mix the mix
Nov. 6th, 2009 11:29 amIn other positive news, my mixer arrived today. It appears to work.

Now I need to decide what to mix.
I bought cream and whole wheat flour at the store yesterday. So I will make bread for sure.
I'll probably make whipped cream too, but honestly I usually whip it in the mug with my little rubberized whisk, one tablespoon at a time. So making a whole bowl of whipped cream seems a bit ludicrous.
I bought a nice mixer, without really having any clue why I needed one. But I've wanted it for almost 20 years. It was time to buy it. I already like having it because it makes me feel like I am taking good care of myself. I hope it turns out to be a good mixer too.
Today's coffee was brewed in milk. The milk was expiring, so I heated it in a sauce pan and added the requisite amount of ground coffee to the hot milk. After it boiled (I was busy playing with the mixer and the boil-over took a bunch of effort to clean.) I poured it into a tall narrow mug and when it was cool enough to drink, the grounds had settled. I like my French press, but after all the cleaning of the new mixer pieces (I don't trust that the factory is clean, wash everything before use!) I didn't want to deal with more equipment.
