serynI tried really hard not to post anything. It's a holiday weekend here and that means it's completely dead. I try really hard not to make jokes about how all weekends are 3 day weekends so everyone online can recreate Easter.
I modded a group and people would promise things "on the weekend, when I have more time" without consciously realizing that the weekend would be filled with family things, household chores, and other priorities. I got to the point where I heard "on the weekend" as "FOAD", which was when I resigned.
I have spent the weekend feeling miserable. It feels like a toothache, but the only thing that fixes it is decongestant. That says it's probably sinuses. And life would have been a lot better years ago if dentistry could have figured that out before I had exploratory drilling that caused me to need crowns done.
I think that saline nasal rinsing idea that's become so popular should have more caveats and better instructions. I keep swallowing the rinse because my head is at the wrong angle. That's so much salt at once that it makes me vomit. No wonder they recommend you neti pot in the shower. eww. I'm also more than a little skeeved by the idea of shooting non-sterile water into my nose and sinuses.
I'm hoping it really is just sinuses though because I need a new dentist. The dentist himself was fine but his office is staffed by incompetent buffoons. They kept asking me which hygienist I wanted and then scheduling me for the Marquis d' Sade's understudy. Tiny little Asian torturess would lean her whole bodyweight on the scaler. The good hygienist does not leave me feeling like I've gone several rounds against [insert name of boxer who favors the mug shots]. Why did they ask me who I wanted if it was pot-luck anyway? Idiots.
But mostly this post was a gratuitous icon post.
I bought the tea because hey, black cherry tea is awesome, but the sign at the store said, "Virgin Tea, now in cherry!" I cracked up and laughed so hard in public, I had to wipe my face. Every time I drink some, it makes me smile. Which is the only way to deal with the weirdness life hands out.
