1: Your favorite song.
"In A Big Country" by Big Country (which isn't actually a country band).
2: A song that makes you cry.
Not sure, probably something from one of those sappy movies like Beaches.
3: A song that makes you dance.
I posted about this a few months ago. I like the theme song from Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast and the intro music to Batman Beyond.
4: Your favorite male singer.
I like a lot of male singers. Bryan Adams, Michael Bolton, that guy from Matchbox Twenty (but only when he's with the band, his solo work is lame). Probably there's someone really phenomenally favorite that I'm not remembering right now. About 80% of the music I like is done by male singers.
5: Your favorite female singer.
This is harder. Pat Benetar is pretty good. I like some of the Taylor Swift stuff after hearing it on the radio.
6: Your favorite band.
Def Leppard? They're one of the only bands I own multiple albums of where I don't need to skip songs, but nothing they've done this century. Asia. Journey (though lately the radio keeps playing the horrid dirge songs and I want to never listen to any Journey ever again). I used to like Duran Duran, but they didn't stay dead and their new stuff is awful.
7: One band/singer you're ashamed to admit you like.
Michael Bolton. Air Supply. RATT. Um. the list is probably something close to 90% of the music I really like.
8: One band/singer whose popularity you will never understand.
Dido. Jackson 5. Beastie Boys
9: A song that reminds you of an ex.
er. I was a teenager in the 80s. Everyone has their own "theme" to the soundtrack of my life. I'm not even going to list them all. I do own most of them, but shockingly none of them were songs I bothered ripping.
10: A song that reminds you of your father.
Anything by Randy Travis.
11: A song that reminds you of your mother.
"Go Tell It On The Mountain" by Mahalia Jackson.
12: A song that makes you want to have sex.
I couldn't think of a real answer, so let me give a tongue-in-cheek answer: "I Touch Myself" by the DeVinyls.
13: A song you sing in the shower.
I do mashups of just about anything I can pull from my torrential mental soup of song lyrics.
14: A song from the year you were born.
Dunno. I didn't listen to music for years after that.
15: A song you liked in high school.
"I Think We're Alone Now".
16: The first song in your mp3 folder.
They're alphabetized, that's hardly fair.
17: The last song in your mp3 folder.
Something by ZZTop inevitably.
18: An instrumental song you like.
"Music Box Dancer"
19: Your favorite love song.
I like a lot of love songs. Most music is love songs. Lyric-wise, I'd pick something by Air Supply (the names are kind of blurred in my head, but there's at least one which doesn't allude to orgistic rockstar sex before the perfect woman was found). Musically, I like "More Than Words" by Extreme.
20: Your favorite breakup song.
It's been a long time. I don't really drown my troubles with music. I'm old enough to use alcohol instead.
21: A song that makes you want to break stuff.
"Come On Eileen" especially the original Dixies Midnight Runners version, but also the recent remake.
22: Your favorite song from a movie.
The Lion King theme music. Or something from Beauty and the Beast. Or the Darth Vader Theme from ESB.
23: Your favorite duet.
The one in the Karate Kid sequel...
24: Your favorite cover song.
I think they mean "cover" the way I mean "remake". A cover is when you play a song during a performance. A remake is when you record your cover. I don't go to concerts, so I don't really hear covers.
25: Your favorite song from 2010 (so far)
I don't have one. My favorite radio stations tend to play older music. The only song I know is recent is that Ke$ha one and that's a favorite like having a preference for a particular bowel movement--- which also indicates you have an unhealthy interest in your own shit.
26: Your favorite movie video.
Movie video? Music video? I don't have one. I don't like music videos. I don't know what a movie video is.
27: One song in your mp3 folder you're pretty sure no one else has.
I rather assume everyone has everything I have already. It's probably not true though. I've got the Boston Pops doing an excerpt from Swan Lake. That's probably rare enough to be a sufficient attempt at this question.
28: One song that needs to never be played again.
"Come On Eileen".
29: One song that gives you the creeps.
"Come On Eileen".
30: A song you'd like played at your funeral.
Don't want a funeral. Should there be a memorial service I want it to be held in absolute silence. Since a memorial service isn't for me. I hope they pick something cheap so money isn't wasted paying RIAA fees.
